until要比till更佳正式一些，书面用语中不宜使用till。
用在句子开头时，until更加常用一些。
另外，till还有其他的名词、动词意义，而until就只有“直到”这个意义。

中文虽然都是“直到”的意思,但还是在意思上有一点区别的.
till表示肯定,而until表示否定（有一点抽象,不理解可以不管）
接下来两句话是一个意思
I will be here till he comes back.
I won't leave here until he comes back.
可以看出一点差别了吧,until一般和not连用,以not……until为句式.而till一般单独使用.
两句的翻译是：
我将一直在这里直到他回来.
我将不会离开这里直到他回来.
（中文真是博大精深啊,让我想起了“中国队大胜巴西队”和“中国队大败巴西队”的笑话了.）
这两句话的用法不一,但意思一样,都是“在他回来之前,我是不会走的”这个意思.同样,英语也是这样,几乎相同的句子,只是第二句是否定,till改为了until,意思却也完全一样.
所以,可以说till和until作为“直到”是一个意思,只不过后面的用在否定句,前面的用在肯定句里罢了.
