leave with 你可以当做是短语,理解成留给某人某物.
其实是be left是被留下的意思,with后面是伴随的状语.
被动语态就是表示被动,不是我主动剩下的,是别人留给我的,所以是i was left with.

是which引导的定语从句修饰前面的metal.seem to do 是固定搭配,意思是好像.
did not seem to fit anywhere 就是看起来好像哪都安不上.
