The film is directed by Hayao Miyazaki and it is his first long film which is drawn from real characters.
The film tells about Jiro Horikoshi's span life,depicting the life of Jiro as a technician and his encourter with an unfortunate girl Naoko.It not only delicates the deep distressed mental from an aircraft loving teenager to being troubled by whether contribute to the war,but also makes a detailed description about his encounter and love with the unfortunate tuberculosis girl Naoko.
