How Do You Know:
"How Do You Know" is a thoughtful, funny, and romantic dramedy. It covers young people in their early thirties having to make tough choices about their life and career, and does it with way more thought and accuracy than something like "Morning Glory"(2010).
The film begins with some interesting parallels.George (Paul Rudd) and Lisa (Reese Witherspoon) have had some unlucky breaks in their careers and their lives are going straight downhill.George is with an analytically-minded girlfriend but she thinks his troubles would be too much for their relationship, meanwhile Lisa is with Matty (Owen Wilson) but he doesn't have enough brain power to care what she's thinking let alone what that would mean.It ends up playing out like a romantic comedy rather than a drama, but there is still a lot of thought and simple honesty to the whole thing.
This is the role that I have been waiting for for Paul Rudd.He is still very funny but this is about his character and what he's going to do with the crap that life has handed him.Witherspoon was cute and likable.Sometimes their simple messages were too simple and things got a little too neat, but the actors were all quite funny and I thoroughly enjoyed "How Do You Know".
疯狂的神父:
Ignacio is a man who was raised as an orphan in a monastery in Mexico, and now works there as the cook.Unfortunately, the monastery is in a poor financial state,so the food he makes is terrible! When a nun named Sister Encarnación moves into the monastery,Ignacio develops a crush on her.To save the monastery,be able to start feeding the orphans well, and impress Sister Encarnación,he goes out to make money, and plans to achieve his long-term ambition and become a wrestler. He convinces a street thief named Steven to join him as his sidekick, and together, they start participating in local wrestling matches,Ignacio under the name,"Nacho Libre" and Steven under the name,"Esqueleto".Even though Steven tends to take rough beatings in the ring, and the pair don't tend to win matches at first, they still make money, enough for Ignacio to feed the orphans properly. The problem is,where he comes from, wrestling is considered a sin.
"Napoleon Dynamite" doesn't have much of a plot, but due to all the laughs I found in it,I can't complain much. This follow-up from director/co-writer Jared Hess and his wife and co-writer Jerusha Hess (along with Mike White this time) isn't quite as funny as its predecessor (though I definitely found it funnier the second time than I did the first). Here,we have the main character farting occasionally, and fart jokes are a rather tiresome cliché in comedy these days that mustn't take much talent to come up with!Fortunately, there aren't a lot of those in this particular movie, though I also didn't care much for certain other gags, such as Nacho rubbing excrement in Esqueleto's face. However,it certainly still is funny at times, even though generally not hilarious.Jack Black often provides laughs, and I'm sure many other fans of his would agree.Maybe none of the gags can match some of the ones in ND,but for fans of Jack Black and slapstick,it should have its funny moments. Also, unlike its predecessor, this film is touching at times.Jack Black plays a silly but likable and caring character, which is definitely a highlight. The wrestling scenes add a bit of suspense to the story. In other words, unlike ND,it's not all about the laughs.
This certainly isn't the most consistent comedy I've ever seen, with some unnecessary moments (like the fart jokes),which the movie probably would have been better without, but overall,it's still reasonably funny film with a good story. It's much better than the dreadful "Epic Movie",that's for sure! The reason I mention that is because "Nacho Libre" is one of the films "spoofed" in that crime against humanity! Also,Héctor Jiménez, who plays Esqueleto in this film, soon went on to play Mr.Tumnus in "Epic Movie" afterwards!Anyway,if you want lighthearted silliness, along with a bit of action and some fairly touching moments, this second feature-length film from the creators of "Napoleon Dynamite" is probably worth checking out, especially if you're a Jack Black fan.Even if you're not impressed the first time,it might improve with another viewing!

Forrest Gump An absolute film favourite of mine, mainly because there has never been a movie character that I have appreciated so much as Forrest Gump.A simple man who experiences (and creates) some of the most significant events in American history, while all he really wants is to be with the woman he loves,Jenny.
Tom Hanks gave an incredible performance as Forrest,a man of 75 IQ who is waiting at a bus stop whilst telling his life story. As we see the story develop from him meeting both his sweetheart Jenny,Elvis Presley and being told 'run Forrest, run!' different people arrive at the bus stop and listen to him. Each meets his story with emotions ranging from enraptured to derision,as they learn with the audience the incredible life Forrest has led. This includes him starring in the All American Football team, winning a Congressional Medal of Honour in Vietnam, exposing the Watergate scandal and making millions from 'Bubba-Gump shrimping industries',while meeting three different U.S Presidents along the way.The film ends on a poignant note, with Jenny and Forrest meeting again and having a son,as Jenny dies of HIV/AIDS.
Along with Tom Hanks in the title role Forrest Gump featured an excellent supporting cast, with career bests from Robin Wright Penn as Jenny and Gary Sinise as the legless Vietnam veteran Lt.Dan Taylor.
I was inspired by the wonder of a man experiencing his life without realising its significance to the world, just simply wishing for an emotionally damaged woman who goes on to live a lonely life without him.She rejects Forrest, telling him 'he doesn't know what love is',before eventually realising that no-one would ever love her more.
Due to its preposterous plot line and sentimental tone,Forrest Gump could easily have descended into melodramatic mush peppered with phony special effects. However in the capable hands of screenwriter Roth and Zemeckis the movie becomes a highly entertaining yet profound account of one simple-minded man who goes on an enthralling quest. For such an audacious film there were amazingly few flaws (Forrest inspiring John Lennon to write the song 'Imagine' and the contrivances of him running across America the only examples I can recall).
Forrest Gump is a film that may well transcend anything of its kind.It gave us a character I had great sympathy and hope for,and reminded me that a person needs no intelligence to be an upstanding and admirable person.

《阿甘正传》观后感(英文) To be honest, this is the first time I ever write a review of a movie. And this beginning is a tough one—with an Oscar winner as its subject, surrounding which there is considerably controversy over the values it has questioned, the thoughts it tried to implicitly convey, and the art of the movie itself. Forrest Gump mould incarnation of virtue is honest keeping one’s word , conscientiously , brave paying attention to motioning among film. In the film, Forrest Gump is a very pure image, but Jenny has become the degenerate symbol . And write the great discrepancy originally in this. To all that narrated, since beginning all behave with a kind of tender feeling and well-meaning attitude after all for the film, having even joined poesy composition, this makes the film seem soft and have no injury. The film advocates to traditional moral concept and embodiment. Make film apt to accept by people, director superb lay out skill and film application of language make the film very attractive too. Success with commercial for film content of the film has given security, and the treatment on director’s art makes the film more excellent, this is reason that the film succeeds. It was the box-office hits the most in that year to become U.S.A. in < Forrest Gump>.

Forrest Gump is so unique because of the character Forrest Gump himself, who has a low IQ of only 75. I love that Forrest doesn't lose his innocence and purity throughout the movie, or maybe he just can't but either way, this shows you don't need to be evil or really intelligent to be recognised or successful. It is just a movie, so maybe it doesn't work like that in reality. What that simply means is that the acting and story of this film was incredibly touching on a real level. And in my definition that's what a good movie should be able to do.

《2012》英文影评:
The world is ending in a matter of hours, yet justice and humanity don’t penetrate through the brain-shells of politicians. In order to save their own lives, the government officials keep the secret from the rest of human kind and also lets the man whose knowledge saves their lives die. This is the premise of 2012.
But if the viewer is a Tibetan or someone who is aware of the Tibetan culture and the sensitivities of Tibetan issue, one could feel that the justice and humanity are not occurred in the director’s thought either.
And in real life ethically speaking,Mr.Emmerich failed to hire Tibetan actors who can speak their own language. All the actors who play Tibetan characters are Chinese very poorly pretending to be Tibetans.Their Tibetan is hundred times worse than Zhang Yi’s memorized English or Leonardo DiCaprio’s Swahili (well I can imagine!).
《第一滴血》英文影评:
First Blood arrived in theaters in October 1982,some seven and one-half years after the end of the Vietnam War.Veterans' rights were still a significant issue, although their prominence was waning. With its message about how returning soldiers had been marginalized by a divided country in desperate need of healing,First Blood sought to bring more to the table than the story of an unhinged survivalist lashing out at a bunch of close-minded bigots.Based on David Morrell's novel, the screenplay by Michael Kozoll,William Sackheim, and Stallone sought to mix politics with action. As established by the movie,Rambo wasn't merely the target of a group of small-minded local law enforcement officials, but the pawn of a system that created him then set him adrift and,in a larger sense,of a society that had no use for him beyond the soulless business of warfare. In First Blood,Rambo is a victim.
