什么东东都不可能完全一样,英语中常用的是where.
重要区别如下：
1.wherever 一般可以解释为：no matter where :无论在哪儿.语气更强.
2.另外,where 可以用来引导定语从句,而wherever 一般只能用于引导状语从句.
暂时想到这些.

一个是哪儿的意思，一般是疑问句的开头
一个是无论哪儿的意思，一般是陈述句的开头

其实正确的来说就是
你怎么会有这种想法?很多时候用在反问句得形式中.也许根据书本上的语法来讲是讲不太通,但是在美国这种说法很常见.可是说成How on earth did you come up with this kind of an idea or How can you come with such an idea like this?!
可以用where来代替,但是语气就变了,变成是期待一个回答的问句.而不是不期待答案的反问句.

no matter what = whatever
no matter who = whoever
no matter when = whenever
no matter where = wherever
no matter which = whichever
no matter how = however
注意：no matter 不能引导主语从句和宾语从句.
(错）No matter what you say is of no use now.（对）Whatever you say is of no use now.你现在说什么也没用了.（Whatever you say是主语从句）
（错）Prisoners have to eat no matter what they're given.
（对）Prisoners have to eat whatever they're given.囚犯们只能给什么吃什么.
